About
African Youth Choir (AYC) was established by Conductors and Choir leaders of African choral associations in 2012 in Libreville. It has become one of the ACCM's flagship projects.
The will was to unite the youth of Africa and to enable these singers from across the continent to fraternize, unite their voices to share their cultures and skills to become messengers of peace and intercultural and friendliness model.
Composed of young singers, from 18 to 26 years old, carefully selected for two years, in African countries through national or international auditions, according to criteria and a quota set by the Artistic Committee, the choir is trained by experienced african conductor appointed for two years, surrounded by an artistic team.
A training camp lasting one week at least is held annually in the host country. Then the choir performs in concerts or festivals with a repertoire that reflects the diversity of African choral music, and an openness to the world.
